My eyes are red
As if I’ve been crying
But if they said that’s why
Well they’ve really been lying
And if you think I’m good now
I’m not even trying.

Vying for my attention they
Hunt me down to say
You’re not good, you’re just okay,

Then where I was flying
I’m suddenly lying
At the bottom of my grave.

And for all of my talent I
Can only feel that I’m dying.

~ The Prince of Tennis, Kirihara Akaya, Rikkaidai Fuzoku

Poetic Context Kirihara states that he was determined to be the best player in Rikkaidai, but his dreams were shot down by The Three Demons. This is his recollection of that experience.

KKH’s Rant Poor Akaya. It must have been really hard to be smacked down by those guys. Anyway, I enjoyed putting the rhymes into this one. At first it was all going to rhyme, but that didn’t work out.

:) I did... slightly. But Fuji was too cool in that match, and, Kirihara deserved it. (Have you noticed how Seigaku ALWAYS run around saving Fudomine/getting revenge for them?)

xD When my friend watched it, she went from, "they look like gangsters that are gonna knife you" to "Oh my gosh, they're my favourite team."
